"Cut it up" contest

This sketch by the CutCardStock team was a tough one. When I looked at it first I was so eager to make a card on this sketch; it was so motivating! But when I started making the card that was a totally different story. I was almost tearing my hair apart by the end...I colored and matted an image but that didn't seem to go well, so I'd to color another image...somehow nothing seemed to fit. Even at the end I was not very happy with my production; but when I looked at it the next day, I was quite happy!

I applied some stickle glitter to the PP and on the flowers at the bottom. The monkey seemed to be "in the air" doing nothing so I drew a branch.

  • Stamp: Changito monkey (again an image from an image swap)
  • CS: Bazzill, DP: DCWV
  • Dew drops, glitter pen, Nestabilities, Stickles stardust, Prismacolor pencils, OMS, flower punch.

Composition book and Back to School something challenge

Looking at all the altered notebooks that the talented stampers were making, I was very tempted to make one. This would also be my entry into the Back to School Something challenge. Since I was one of those who didn't know what a "composition" book was (I'd seen it but didn't know that's what it was called); I decided to post a picture of it.

Compositionbook

Here's the altered one:

I made it for my neighbor's son as he's very fond of any thing that I make :); I quite like it after it was done.

Bling it on! and Stitch in time

This is the first challenge from Stamping Links to Love that I'm participating in. How can a girl ever pass a glitter challenge?!?! :-$

I used all the kinds of bling/glitter that I'd on this card:

  • the heart is colored with a glitter pen
  • the DP is decorated with stickles stardust
  • rhinestones

I wanted to make one of those rounded flap cards but after thinking, thinking and more thinking :-t , I couldn't come up with a way to do it with nesties. So I thought let me make the flap a triangle and it started to look like a purse! It then became the perfect target to bling it on!! To make it look more like a purse I added some stitching and guess what - that's the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Stitch in time!!

  • Stamp: from image swap
  • Bazzill CS and DCWV DP
  • Sakura glitter pen, Stickles Stardust, Nestabilities, Rhinestones, White gel pen, Prismacolor pencils, OMS

Fridge magnet - an altered coaster

Some time back, M's was carrying these round coasters 8 for $1 and I couldn't resist that deal. Am I glad that I did :-v

I finished this by giving it a coat of Hard Coat Satin Mod Podge. I wasn't sure if I could Mod Podge over the prismacolor pencils and pigment ink so tried it over a scratch paper and when it worked I crossed my fingers and applied MP all over the coaster in order to water-proof it.

  • Prismacolor pencils, stickels stardust, Nestabilities, Round coaster, Black Cat Eye's pigment ink

Accordion-like card and Stamp Something Challenge

Update: I realized that my card is just in time for the Birthday Challenge at Stamp Something. So there it goes!!

I started to make an accordion card that was posted as one of the projects on the scor-pal site. However, the dimensions written on the tutorial didn't seem to be right and after I started cutting and scoring did I realize that. So I was left with this template to decorate. Didn't turn out that bad :)

  • Prismacolor pencils, OMS, color markers, sentiment sticker from papercrafts, glitter sticker from Joann

Circles and circles

I've been seeing this pattern of arranging 4 circles in a square on a couple of blogs and since then I'd thought to myself that I would make one like that. Here are a couple of links to my inspirations:

Another sketch diversion

Thank you everybody for your wishes (for my mom); she'll be very happy to know :).

I intended to work on one of the Verve's anniversary sketches so I put on my thinking cap to figure out what color CS to use, which PP and what not; but somehow this image forced me to follow my own sweet will and this is what I came up with.

I've been meaning to post this for some time now...Anna awarded me with this wonderful award, thanks Anna!

I really admire the way Anna keeps experimenting with various things known and unknown. I would like to award it to my other talented friend Risa.

Chichiboulie and my hiatus

There's been a long hiatus on my end...I'd gone to India for 2 weeks for my mother's surgery. She's doing fine now. After coming back there was so much to catch up with...but I'm finally here!

This is a card I made before I went but I never got the opportunity to post it. It started on one of Mojo Monday's sketch and there was just a slight diversion from the original sketch. When I saw the sketch, I totally fell in love with it and knew I definitely wanted to make a card.
