CSP124

Yippee! One more challenge done! This card took me a really long time, actually not the card but the image. I’d colored it about a month back but I just wasn’t sure what sentiment to attach with it. First I thought “I’d flip for you” but that didn’t make sense to me, then I found “king of the grill” but that wouldn’t be too useful in my family as we don’t do BBQ…another one that came to my mind - “Have a smoky day”…finally settled on “Lets’ Celebrate”. It seemed universally applicable :).

Oh and I made it for the CPS124 challenge. It appears that I’m into flipping sketches these days!

DSC02715How is it for a manly card? I think I’m getting more comfortable making manly cards since I shred my stereotypes that manly cards should be in earthy tones and yadda yadda yadda. The sentiment is embossed with clear EP. Something new that I tried with this card – I didn’t use OMS blending instead I blended using the pencils itself. That brings a bright touch to the coloring.

  • Stamps: from an image swap
  • Paper: DCWV – Taj Mahal paper stack and DCWV CS.
  • Black ink, clear EP, Prismacolor pencils.

2S4Y challenge

One more card for a challenge, I seem to be on a roll! New supplies and a long vacation from stamping have totally re-energized me! I can talk, eat and drink stamping! :D. Since I got my guide lines two set, whenever I see a sketch all I want to do is try to fit that stamp set into the sketch. So here’s another take using this stamp set. It is for the 2S4Y Challenge 30. I worked a really long time on this card, initially there was no embossing and no brads; but the way the card looked didn’t make my happy. So in came the brads and quite some time was spent on deciding whether golden would be better or copper. Sometimes all that glitters is not better, so copper was the popular choice. Still something seemed missing and my eyes were stealing a glance at the cuttlebug folder and hence the big shot started rolling. Alls well that ends well – I’m happy with the card now! :)

Another challenge…

No posts for two months and now two in a day :). Wanted to post this as a separate one so that I could link it in the challenge. This is for Friday Sketchers 60. This uses another new item that I bought yesterday – Sizziz Garden Delight alphabet dies!!! They were on sale at Michaels for $10 (originally $150). I’d gone there to buy just an acrylic block but my DH pointed out that there were some Sizzix items on sale and I thought I might just look at them – I’ve never bought any dies except nestabilities. When I saw these alphabet thingies I couldn’t resist and bought two of them – the Funky brush and this one. I’d long wanted ONE such alphabet die set but since they were so expensive, they never went up my wish list. Long story short – here’s the card :). Simply love the dies and the way the card turned out!! It looks much better than I thought it would.

Pink, Yellow and Green

Yes its been a long time since I posted anything – my family was here! We’d lots of fun and I learnt a couple of things from my mom like stitching and crochet –mainly so that I could crochet those little flowers for cards :). Will post their photos soon. Now that everybody’s gone, I’m back to my crafting frenzy. Here’s a card I made with my new (and first) PTI stamps “Guide Lines Two”. Its for the Stamp Something challenge “Pink, Yellow and Green”.

DSC02695I’m not too experienced with stamping using colored ink so I had no idea how yellow would look on pink CS. I guess there’s always a first time. Did you notice the little butterfly charm?!?!? I got a packet of 6 for 20 cents or so :D.
