DSC_0009

Wish you all a very happy new year! May the year ahead bring your lots of happiness!

I love this card! It came out just perfect and it’s a single layer card! You know what – I created the word “togetherness” using “together” and “happiness” from the stamp set!

Stamps: Penny black good catch, Waltzingmouse stamps Say it loud.

Happy anniversary with sunburst background

DSC_0008

I’m so  proud of my sunburst background! I created it using a painter’s tape, distress ink and foam tool. I used a circle as a mask and then sponged the background all over. To create the rays, I took a strip of painter’s tape and kept moving it like a compass till the circle was complete. The sentiment was made using Milo’s ABC and stamped on vellum. The image was colored using distress inks and water brush.

You are my best catch

Sponged the card base (watercolor paper) in peeled paint. Stamped the Text BG. Diecut an oval in card front. Stamped the penny black image. Colored using distress inks and water brush. Created the sentiment using Milo’s ABC and hand drew the dialog box then fuzzy cut it.

You are a perfect match

Since I took the Stretch Your Stamps class, I’ve started using vellum more and more – which is good. I also think about various ways in which I can use my stamps. For example in the card below the dress for both has been paper pieced from patterned paper that I created using my background stamps! Yes it was a lot of work but totally worth it!

This is my first card with watercoloring using distress inks. I recently got the Koi waterbrush and took it for a test ride on this card. It was a lot of fun! Had to be given that I love to color – I find it very therapeutic, if I may say so. I also used Prismacolor pencils here and there where I didn’t have the right colors in distress inks. Then sponged the sky using Broken china. The sentiment was printed on the computer. Oh and I had to add some stickles because the adhesive on the vellum was showing up Sad smile

  • Stamps: Penny Black good catch
  • Paper: PTI grey and white, Recollections vellum
  • Distress inks various colors, Prismacolor pencils, Koi waterbrush

Penny Black after a long time…

I adore penny black images but had stopped using them because I wasn’t having a good luck with the clear stamps. However I couldn’t resist any further and decided to give them another try! Sorry about the blurry image…didn’t know that the macro function was off on the camera when I took the photo

DSC09881

Stamped the image in Brilliant Black. Colored using prismacolor pencils and OMS. Sponged the panel with Broken China distress ink. Stamped the sentiment using memento black and cut it out. Popped the panel on dimensions and then the sentiment on top of it. The two glasses are also popped up but thanks to the blurry photo they’re hardly visible. Added some Crystal stickles to the hearts.

  • Stamps: Penny Black Good Catch and hero Arts Cuckoo
  • Paper: PTI
  • Others: Memento black, Brilliant black, broken china distress ink, crystal stickles, prismacolor pencils, OMS.

Sketch Saturday challenge #94

The moment I saw the sketch on Sketch Saturday, I knew I wanted to make a card using this sketch and I also knew which stamp I was going to use :).

DSC04734

The napkins on the mice are paper pieced and so is the cupcake wrapper. The cupcake is popped up on dimensionals. The center embellishment was created by cutting a circle from felt and stitching a button on top of it. I recently bought lot of felt in various colors and was waiting to use it :).

Supplies: DCWV PP and CS, fiskars corner punch, Favorite findings button, acrylic felt, grosgrain ribbon, penny black acrylic stamps, Prismacolor pencils, OMS.
