Another pop up box card – garden theme

If you would like to know how to make these pop up box cards without using a die refer to my previous post. They are really easy to make and look so cute!!

For this one, I changed the dimensions a  little bit. In the previous post, the box flaps and the box sides are the same dimensions 2” X 2.5”. In this I changed the box flap to 1.5” X 2.5” and the box sides are 2.5” X 2.5”. I think I liked the original dimensions  better – although this looks good as well.

I used a strip of acetate cardstock to attach the bee so that it looks like it’s hovering above the grass. I colored the images using copics as well as prismacolor pencils. The grass die cut I had cut using my zing sometime back.

Supplies: Lawn Fawn Gnome Sweet Gnome, Copics, Prismacolor pencils, KNK Zing, acetate cardstock, Papertrey ink cardstock.

Happy Birthday

I used this cut file from Bird’s cards. I modified it a little so that I got a plain strip towards the bottom for my sentiment. Then I cut it out using my KNK Zing. Stamped the sentiment. Sponged the background with distress inks – red and weathered wood. Created some shimmer mist and sprayed that. the sentiment was white embossed on vellum. Voila! my card was done!

It’s your birthday!

I used this cut file from Bird’s cards. I modified it a little so that I got a plain strip towards the bottom for my sentiment. Then I cut it out using my KNK Zing. Stamped the sentiment. Sponged the background with distress inks – Spicy marmalade and pickled raspberry. Created some shimmer mist and sprayed that. Voila! my card was done

Happy Anniversary!

Sponged various distress inks on a white cardstock. Cut background using KNK Zing. Colored yellow circles using spectrum noir markers. Adhered pearls in the center of these circles. White Embossed the sentiment and then sponged distress ink around it. Assembled the card.

It’s been quite a while since I posted any of my creations. Life has been busy on my side of the world. I was able to squeeze out sometime for my creative outlet but didn’t get any time to share them here. Now that I do, you would see me sharing more regularly!

Stamped the background in walnut stain ink. Cut the sentiment using KNK Zing. Embossed it in clear embossing powder. Doodled faux stitches around the outline of the card using white gel pen

Using gel pen in KNK Zing

I made these cards by using a Sakura gel pen in the KNK zing. Since the gel pen is quite thin, I created a shim using fun foam. Taped it using scotch tape. And voila! I had a pen holder. For the first card I used silver gel pen and then added some rhinestones. The flourishes as well as the “thank you” – both are drawn using KNK Zing.

For the above card I used white gel pen with some adhesive pearls. I really like how they turned out!

Congrats on your new home

One of our close friends recently purchased a new home and I made this card for them. I’d been looking at all the pop up cards popping up (no pun!) made with the Pop up card studio and I wanted to make something on my own. This was also a good time to get familiar with my new electronic cutter – KNK Zing. When I thought of making a card for the new home owners, I thought to myself how nice it would be if I could do a 3D picture of a cute little house, with a big shady tree, a white fence… and that’s how the vision for this card was setup.

Then I started looking around for the perfect house and I found this at Miss Kate’s Cuttables and at 50 cents it was quite a steal! The fence and the tree are cut files from the MTC gallery.

The letters are cut using Zing.

A few words about the zing – it is absolutely amazing! It took me some time to ramp up but I totally love it now! What I like best is that it cuts the PTI cardstock like butter in just one pass! All the CS above is PTI CS. Look at how well the Zing cut the teeny tiny details in the window! I’ll try to do a full review some time later.
