Stretch Your stamps–Label stamps (day 8)

The trick here – the label that you’re seeing at the back of the sentiment is actually cut into half. Since it was too small for the sentiment I “stretched” it by cutting it in half and accordingly adhering it behind the sentiment.

Stamped polka dot on the CS in Shabby Shutters. Stamped the label in Shabby Shutters. Cut it in half. Embossed the sentiment in white. Added the faux stitching using white gel pen. Adhered the two-pieced label and then the sentiment. Punched the border and added a white background. Added faux stitching border to the card.

  • Stamps: Hero Arts Frames and messages, Waltzingmouse Say It Loud
  • Paper: PTI green and white, TPC blue
  • Martha Stewart Lattice punch, white embossing powder, Sakura white gel pen, distress ink, rhinestones.

Simply Sketches #4

I’m so glad that I started doing these sketches – it challenges me to think differently every time and come up with new layouts!

Here’s the new sketch – simple and sweet!

SimplySketch4

and my sample – it came out just like I’d envisioned, if not better! I love when that happens Smile

I cut out 1.75 inches wide strips from Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse (unknowingly it turns out this is my go-to color!), Lemon tart and Summer Sunrise. Punched them using Doily lace punch. Glued them to the card base. Tied a ribbon on top of Hawaiian shores. Dotted the centers of the punched strips with liquid pearls. Stamped the sentiment in Brilliance black.

If you make a card using this sketch, I would love to see it! So please do leave me a comment with the link. Thank you!

  • Stamps: Hero Arts Framed Messages
  • Paper: PapetreyInk Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, Smokey Shadow
  • Others: ribbon from Michaels, Liquid Pearls, Brilliance black.

Three-in-one

Yes, this card is for three challenges!! Here are the three of them:

  • Caardvarks: The challenge was to make a baby card and I hadn’t made one since a long time so I thought to myself “why not?!?”!
  • OCC Challenge – Bows: Yes at OCC we’d to use bows – knowing how fond I’m of embellies, I jumped at it!
  • 2S4Y – That’s where I got this sketch! The sketch was very different from what I’d been making so I was tempted to try it out and see what I make out of it!

All together everything worked out very well and I’m soooo happy with this card! I sponged around the sentiment with pigment ink.

Create Your Own Friday #3 – Gift card holder

This gift card holder is inspired from the flower pot card at SCS.Instead of the slider I chose to give it another mechanism for holding the gift card; and let me just say that I’m soooooo pleased with what I did!! I’m a genius :)

This is the front:
