Inlaid die cuts

I stamped the background using a gingham background stamp. Then die cut the background with the larger flowers. Also die cut the large flower in a dark blue cardstock. Using the inlaid die cut technique, placed the blue die cut flowers in the spaces in the background panel. To these I added the light blue die cut flowers and finally embellished with adhesive pearls. Decorated the card with stickles and stamped the sentiment. It looks so pretty! My goal was to make a masculine card with the gingham background but my girly brain always takes the turn towards flowers, glitters and pearls! Sigh!

Misti helped me in getting a nice background as I could stamp repeatedly till I was satisfied! Love that ability!

I love this card! It came out just perfect and it’s a single layer card! You know what – I created the word “togetherness” using “together” and “happiness” from the stamp set!

Sponged the card base (watercolor paper) in peeled paint. Stamped the Text BG. Diecut an oval in card front. Stamped the penny black image. Colored using distress inks and water brush. Created the sentiment using Milo’s ABC and hand drew the dialog box then fuzzy cut it.

Chalkboard technique

Stamped the woodgrain background in Forest moss. Stamped various sentiments in white ink and embossed the main sentiment in white EB. Sponged white ink randomly on the black CS. Went over the sentiments with white and green prismacolor pencils.

Starred happy birthday

Yes I’ve been having a lot of fun with single layer/CAS cards and my distress inks! I never knew the distress inks would be such a good investment – I really enjoy them! To think of it when they came out my reaction was who in their right minds would ever buy them?!?!?

This card is perfect to use up your scraps!

The red die cut was actually a negative left after I cut a few red circles. I matted it on an aqua CS and stamped yee haw in versamark. The sentiment is also on a scrap that I’d. Pretty simple, isn’t it?!?!?

Stamped wood grain background in Walnut Stain distress ink on brown CS. Stamped the solid images in various distress inks on white CS squares. Sponged them with walnut stain DI. Same with the sentiment. Also distressed it using a ruler. I rubbed the sharp edge of the ruler against the edge of the CS.

Background created by embossing IO Damask cover-a-card in white on an eggplant CS. The sentiment stamps are from WMS Say It Loud. The flower was sponged using distress ink Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade. The center was colored using a red spectrum noir marker. Glittered with stickles.

Stretch Your Stamps–Sentiment stamps (day 5)

What would you do if your card turned out just what you’d in mind? And it was one layer? And it took only 15-20 minutes? I know – do a happy dance!!

Stretch Your Stamps–Border Stamps (day 10)

I don’t know if I can classify this as a truly border stamp but this is the closest I had to a border stamp. Once again I used the color block technique – it’s a great way to use up your scraps!

I was inspired by a cowboy poncho for this design. For some reason the embossing didn’t come out perfect but I think that resulted into a nice worn/distressed look!
