Craft fair goodies–tea bag pillowboxes

I cut the pillowbox using Cricut and SCAL. Printed the sentiment on computer and cut out tags. Stamped images on the tags and then tied it to the box with a ribbon along with a bell. Each box has 2 tea bags.

Buggys/Baby Carriages

I made these buggys for a friend. If you have a manual die cutting machine then you can get the instructions here. If you have an electronic cutter and SCAL, then you can download the SCUT2 file here. Please do not sell the file.



Aren’t they the cutest?!?! I also made her a tag. The picture doesn’t do justice to the tag.

I cut out the bottle shaped tag using SCAL and cricut. The shape comes with SCAL. I cut it at approx. 3 inches wide and 5 inches tall. Then I cut the flowers using SCAL too at 0.75 inches. I printed the poem using the printer. I attached the cut shape to a copier paper and then inserted into the printer. Adhered buttons to flower centers. Punched a hole with crop-a-tile at the top of the tag and then tied a ribbon. Embellished the flowers and the tag with Stickles Diamond stickles – not quite visible in the photo.

Create Your Own Friday #16 – Backpack bag/box and Earth Day!

I saw this backpack on SCS and it looked so cute that I wanted to make one. I did make a few changes to it, mostly so that I could flatten it out and mail it if I wanted to (in case I decide to put it on my Etsy shop). The one on SCS would be hard to mail. They would make cute birthday favors for a little girlie. Not sure what I’ll do with it – or the other boxes that I keep making :) – but I love making them. Someday God will find a good way to use them :)

I also reused the golden cord that I’d saved from some packaging.

Supplies: DCWV CS and PP, reused golden cord, golden eyelets, grosgrain ribbon, crop-a-dile.

A cool gift idea and WT03

I made this box as a gift; I would be putting some cards and tags inside it. Just love how it turned out, especially the coloring. Its approx. 4.5" X 6.5" in dimensions.

I wanted to participate in WT03 @ SCS and instead of a card I used vellum on this box. This is how it looks when you open it:

Embellies storage in a shoebox - Recycle at its best!

Ok, I HAD to give myself a pat on my back when I designed this storage solution for my ribbons and various embellishments.
I took a shoebox and decided to divide it vertically into two "floors". The bottom one consists of same-height boxes which can each have different embellies. The top "floor" has compartments for ribbon. In the middle it has a handle so that you can pick it up and look at the things at the bottom. If you want you can pick out any of the individual boxes at the bottom.
I'm so proud of it . It fulfills my need for storing my ribbons and also organizes all my embellies! AND it is zero cost - all I used was a shoebox, some cardstock and some PP!

The divider in the center can be used to pull out the "tray" to access things at the bottom.

Box for cards and whole lotta tags!

Ok I was so loving the process of making these tags that I made them in every possible combination I could think of; what could I do, I just loved them! This set from Inkadinkado is one of my favorites. I also wanted to use my new crop-a-dile so this was my excuse for using it :)

Then I thought I would make a gift box for my friends which could contain some cards and tags. So here it is:

The border is created using a scalloped scissors and crop-a-dile. Doesn't it look like the "threading water punch"?

Did you know that in Live Writer, when you insert a picture in your post it gives you the ability to add a watermark?!?! That's what I did above. Isn't that cool?!?!

A new box

I was so dying to make this box since I saw Debbie's box that I was really excited when I got a chance! I wanted to make a gift of these Ghirardelli squares and decided that this kind of a box would be perfect. It fits 9 squares: 3 pieces in each of the 3 rows.

This was the first time I was making it all on my own: creating my own template, figuring out the dimensions, yadda yadda yadda; it does need some fine tuning for next time. Some things to change in future:

1. I think a solid cardstock would look better than the printed one as it would bring out the colors in the Ghirardelli squares. In it's present state, it looks a little busy.
2. I think 9 squares are too much to hold in the box. Maybe 6 would've been better.
3. I should add some corner flaps to give it more stability.

The Penny black stamp is from the Penny black clear stamp set that I got from my parents as a birthday gift recently. Of course they have no clue about these stamp sets :); I just tell them I want to buy it on my b'day - so simple!. Oh and I also got a crop-a-dile for my b'day and JustRite stamp set (which is on its way) and whole lotta ribbon!

On this one I used a quit pattern. When my DH saw it, his first question was "why's that bird crying?" :)!

I'm back!!

Yes I've been MIA; first a vacation and then a move. We moved to the Pacific north-west!

I'd made a couple of things in this duration but never got a chance to show them off :).

These are the acetate boxes to hold chakli (a south indian savoury, an absolutely delicious snack!) , which is also home-made. I gave these to my family and they all loved it!

This was for my aunt's 25th anniversary. My mom wanted to send something which had "25th anniversary" written on it and since everything in the market seemed to exorbitantly priced I'd the idea to make this. I printed a poem on silver CS and inserted it on the right side of the photo frame. The stickers are glued on top of the glass and not inside.

 

I was always so afraid whether I would be able to do justice to this peacock image that I would never pick it up until now when my DH said it would be nice to use this image. I'm glad that it turned out well!

I'll soon start my blurfing to see your beautiful creations which I've been devoid of for so long!

Lovely little boxes

When I was a child I'd made these origami boxes and my mother would adorn them on her dresser. Now that I think of it, I'm amazed that how much of that junk I used to make and she would treasure it like priceless pieces. She would in fact ask me to make more :). Anyway, 20 years later I'm still making the same boxes just that they seem much more useful and beautiful :). I wanted to distribute prasad (sweets) among my friends and so I used these boxes for that purpose. You can find the instructions by Nichole Heady.

 

I wanted to make all of the same color but was out of ms CS! I must say that though nestabilities are very expensive but they're so useful!

More milk cartons, this time with instructions

So if you're a regular @ my blog, you must've seen that I made a milk carton box just a few days ago. I was so happy with my success that I decided to make more! Actually, next monday we've a festival as part of which I want to give the kids in my neighbourhood some small gift and so I decided to make these for them. Since the last time I made them I figured that I really didn't need to score some of the lines so this time I made my own template of course based on Beate's @ "fresh and fun".

Materials used:

• Wasau white exact index
• PP - again a $1 find!
• Ribbon - this too was a $1 for 5 yards @ Michaels!!
• Double sided tape

They're very simple to make:

1. Download my template here (it is meant for an A4 or 8.5 X 11 inch paper). The template is quite self-explanatory.
2. Cut along the solid lines and score along the dashed line (---). For scoring the angled lines, I used a ruler.
3. Glue the "TAB" to the other end and the bottom flaps together. I used the double sided tape.
4. If you want to cover it with DP/PP like I did, I think it's better to do it before you start the glueing-together process. Rest of the decorations can be done when the box is ready.

Pillow box

This is the next in line among my IWT (I want To...) list. I used to keep reading about people making this pillow box and that but none of them had any photos so I didn't know how it looked till finally I saw it on A Scrapjourney. The template can be found at Mirkwood. I was too lazy to print out the template so I just ball-parked all dimnesions and drew the template by hand. It's not that difficult.

Milk carton box

Finally I've some time on hand so I can tick off some items from my "I want to..." list on the right. This is first in the line. I made it following Beate's tutorial on SCS. The first time I saw it, I found it so cute that I immediately decided that I want to make it some day. I think it makes for a wonderful treat box for kids and it could also be part of a gift basket for kids.
There's a paper clip holding the top as I haven't yet sealed it, I wanted to seal it after I've put some candies inside. And if I hadn't put that paper clip, I wouldn't get the right shape in the photo!
